When you think of Kushiro, you think of Takuboku!?
Kushiro is a place associated with the famous poet Ishikawa Takuboku. However, there are several places related to Takuboku throughout the country. It is said that Takuboku only stayed in Kushiro for 76 days.
In this short time, he was active as a reporter for the Kushiro Shimbun newspaper and also played a major role in nightlife, leaving a strong mark.
He also left behind many songs (compositions) related to Kushiro. These songs are scattered as monuments in various places in the city. There are a whopping 25 of them!
